The year at a glance
November–February: the trade-wind season — dry, sunny, breezy; peak kitesurfing and peak visitor numbers over Christmas–New Year. March–May: arguably the sweet spot — calm seas, humpback whales, thinning crowds, strong value in May. June–August: warmest sea, lightest wind, loggerhead turtles nesting; brief showers possible from August. September–October: the greenest, quietest months — occasional rain on the mountainous islands, hatchlings on the beaches, and the islands at their most local.
