About Cape Verde Islands

Cape Verde Islands is an independent, English-language travel guide to every island of the archipelago — built to help you choose the right island and plan a genuinely great trip.

Our mission

Cape Verde is ten very different islands, and the hardest part of any trip is knowing which one is right for you. Our mission is simple: to give clear, honest, practical advice — island by island — so you can plan with confidence, whether you want winter sun on Sal, hiking on Santo Antão or the quiet beaches of Maio.

How we research our guides

Every guide is researched carefully, cross-checked against multiple reliable sources and written to a consistent structure so you can find what you need fast. We draw on first-hand travel around the islands as well as up-to-date research, and we date each guide so you can see when it was last reviewed.

Travel details change constantly — ferry times, prices, opening hours — so we update our pages regularly and always encourage you to double-check the specifics locally before you book.

Independent and honest

We are not a tour operator, a hotel chain or a government body, and we don't publish pay-to-play reviews. That independence means we can be honest: we'll tell you when a stunning beach has dangerous currents, when a resort is isolated, or when an island isn't the right fit for your kind of trip. Our only goal is to be genuinely useful to travellers.

Corrections and updates

We care about getting things right. If you spot something out of date or inaccurate, or you have first-hand knowledge that could improve a guide, we'd love to hear from you — please get in touch. We read every message and update our guides accordingly.
